About Us
What is City
Dance Centre?
City Dance Centre is a fun, stimulating dance center
expressly created for ADULTS from beginners to advanced, post graduate to
professional. Especially for the
beginner or recreational dancer (or would be dancer), CDC is an exciting unique
concept where you can be taught by real professionals in different forms of
dance.
What we offer
We offer a comprehensive program for all levels of
dancer (see timetable link). In
addition we offer specialized programs such as the following:
Basic Introductory Course
6-8 week Beginner/Introductory Ballet and Flamenco
courses run throughout the year based on demand.
Private Lessons
Private lessons are available upon request
Guest Teachers
Once a month Saturday morning classes are taught by
former or current professional dancers of the Australian Ballet and overseas
companies. (see link for more details)
Extension Full-Time Classical Coaching Program
Exciting new program designed for focused and dedicated
classical ballet students (see link for more details)
Who are we?
Adrian Fryer and Mary Renouf
City Dance Centre is directed by husband and wife team Adrian and Mary. Both having graduated from the Australian Ballet School, they danced as soloists in many professional ballet companies around the world including: The Australian Ballet, Bayerische Staatsoper Munich, Kiel Stadttheater (Germany), Vienna Staatsoper and Klagenfurt Stadttheater (Austria). They have taught at all levels for many years both nationally and internationally with secondary/tertiary institutions and professional ballet and opera companies. This has led to other aspects of the dance profession such as choreography, dance performance production, adjudication and examining and one on one coaching. They both particularly enjoy sharing their experience of dance with the adult clientele.
